Anders & Jakob

What?

TravelTwins.dk deals with the various smaller trips and longer journeys around the world which Anders & Jakob somehow always get involved in. The homepage serves as our personal diary in terms of text and pictures, and it should give travel inspiration to family and friends, but also people in around the world who likes traveling.

The fist two sections – travels and activities – are overview pages from where myriads of pages can be looked into. Some of these pages have multiple sub-pages with comprehensive information and pictures. The last four sections – going next, the twins, miscellaneous and links – are merely informative pages, but we’ll try to spice them with some pictures. All pictures have been snapped by Anders or Jakob.

When?

Both of us have been travelling in primarily Central and Southern Europe since the age of six. In our teen ages we visited USA, Canada, and did a lot of trekking in Sweden and Norway. Since 2001 we have been travelling extensively in Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and Latin America. We both enjoy travelling with friends and family as well as solo. Previously, from 2001 to 2007, we both travelled between 2 and 4 months a year. Today we travel less, but the destinations are getting more exotic and far-flung. Normally we spend in between one week and several months in each country – and we often return to a handful of favorites!

Why?

Because, simply, that travelling is like a mind-broadening, self-detecting existential narcotic, that you get addicted to. Travels deviate radically from the everyday life, and activities such as trekking, mountaineering, diving, enjoying exciting food, talking to friendly people, and visiting minority cultures may, on the one hand, be physically and mentally exhaustive but, on the other hand, they always add something extra to your life – something that’s hard to live without once you have been bitten by the fabled travel bug
