What matters is to get away from the established routes and seek something that little bit more special and authentic. Often, we might have to overcome a bit of hardship and logistical challenges since our journeys most often don’t run smoothly. This is all part of the fun.
In our view, a journey is something you would recommend to others. To us, what really matters, is to get away from the established routes and seek something that little bit more special and authentic. We are not talking about the ultimate expedition, but to move away from the familiar, out of the comfort zone, where everyday situations and events take on an exotic quality.

Exploring the less beaten paths of the world

Through all
50 STATES in the USA
Our travel project to visit all 50 states in the United States of America. The project started in 2022 and so far we have covered 25 states.
We've been to the US many times!
First, as kids, we went on the east coast and on road trips in California.
Later on, during university studies, we did small trips to New York, Atlanta, Boston and other places, typically on shorter trips.
After kickstarting our careers, we did multiple business trips.
But we started all over in 2022 as Jakob moved to the US with the family. Jakob then invented the idea and project title: "The Great American Odyssey: 50 States, 50 Adventures".
This is a mid-term project with an estimated duration of at least 3-4 years, allowing for a comprehensive exploration of each state and its unique attractions.

Locations: Through all fifty states in the USA
In 2022, we embarked on an epic journey across the United States, exploring all 50 states while immersing ourselves in the natural wonders of national parks and experiencing key highlights in each state.
"The Great American Odyssey" is a travel project designed to celebrate the diversity and beauty of the United States, showcasing some of the rich tapestry of landscapes, cultures, and history that make up this incredible nation.
We focus on national park extravaganza and therefore on the key focus areas of this travel project is to visit several of the 63 national parks in the United States. From the rugged terrain of Denali National Park in Alaska to the Grand Canyon we'll seek to witness the breathtaking beauty of America's protected natural landscapes.
In each state, we will look for key attractions and landmarks. Along the way, we’ll try to engage with local communities, savor regional cuisines, and learn about the diverse cultures that shape each state. Attend festivals, visit museums, and participate in local traditions if possible.
Anders will come and visit along the way and prioritize thrilling activities like white-water rafting in Colorado, hiking the Appalachian Trail, exploring the canyons of Utah and hiking in Hawaii.
Planning, budgeting, and detailed itineraries are crucial for the success of this project. We have to consider modes of transportation, accommodation options such as camping in national parks or cozy bed-and-breakfasts, and we have to account for seasonal considerations for visiting certain states and parks.
This project is not just a travel adventure but a transformative experience that will deepen our appreciation for the United States' natural beauty, history, and cultural richness.
Capturing the essence of each state is not possible, but we hope to share just a bit our our journey and inspire others to explore the beauty and diversity of the United States.
